"See it through"

A tragedy occurs and we ask why
The answers are not provided
The questions cannot be answered
But yet we must stay at their side

Despite harsh words that may be exchanged
Friendship is an understanding on a different plane
Flying high above what is considered normal
Rising to the level beyond what seems so futile

Fear is common and anger is just
Don't let words keep you away
Battle through what seems hopeless
And the anger will begin to fray

An injured animal will fight your help
Scared and hurt they'll corner themselves
Lashing out without just cause
Slashing and cutting with razor sharp claws

Approach slowly and with loving care
Comfort and calm with a soft touch
Open your palms to show no weapon
Ease the anxiety and release it's clutch

The true pain is not yours too feel
The momentary hurt is not even real
The rage of the victim is hard to understand
The pain they feel is interpreted by man

When the pain is gone and the heart healed
You will be able to put down the shield
So stay true to those that need your love
In the end thats what friends are made of.
