I write in silence, to honor those we've lost
The innocent victims of terror make us pause
It's been nine years since 2001
Nine long years for the families of those Americans.
Do you remember where you were
On the day we were raped by evil?
Do you remember the tears that flowed
As lives were wasted while towers crumbled?
We all feel so much anger from what has passed
The tragedy that occurred will make us steadfast
Our resolve to reclaim integrity stepped upon
Our unwillingness to forget the people who now are gone
The heroes we also will hold in our hearts
Firefighters and Police and volunteers from afar
They gave themselves with honor and respect
They gave their lives is something we regret
We didnt ask for this to happen
We didnt request to be attacked
Why stab us in the heart
Why kill our families and rip our souls apart.
But here we are with this anger still intact
Our souls have healed and we have not forgot
We will fight terror as long as it exists
We will honor those that fell from the onslaught
Let us always remember the loved ones gone
We miss them terribly taken by the devil's spawn
Light a candle and give our country a boost
Join together and defeat the evil loosed.
Hug your families and hold them close
Lives are precious and sacred to most
You never know what is around the bend
Enjoy them now and differences amend.
