From the time they are born
They bring happiness to our world
Smiling faces and innocent looks
The joy we feel when they pick up books
It takes a lot to raise our children
Patience and love is a place to begin
Watch them grow and learn by trying
Be proud of them when they are crying
Every experience they have will teach
Every dream they have is within reach
Keeps their options open until they ask
Then point to the most wisest of paths.
They may fight you along the way
This is when your nerves may fray
Stay strong and lead them through
The wisdom you share is hard to argue.
They will love their parents I have no doubt
They will appreciate the lessons and be devout
Just continue to love and encourage the kids
It's the intangibles upon which you cannot bid.
They will help us grow to be better parents
Learning as we go rounding dangerous bends
As long as they know that we will be there
To comfort them and to show that we care.
We have provided a generation of minds
That will lead this world leaving problems behind
Creating new life themselves as they get older
Passing down the traditions and providing a shoulder
I have faith that the world will be safe
They inspire me to have this faith
Love your children without thinking twice
To let them be themselves would certainly suffice.
